July 17, 2018: Thanks to you, we're on the ballot! Now the work begins.
We did it! As of this writing, Democratic town and city committee members have collected more than 3,000 signatures for my petition– and still counting! That’s three times the number I needed to get on the ballot to be your next NY State Senator. As you may know, although I am running unopposed for the Democratic candidacy, getting 1,000 people to sign my petition was the final hurdle to becoming your official candidate.
I could never have done this without so much grass-roots support, from people volunteering their time to talk to friends and family, go door-to-door and do what it takes to move the political process forward. A big thank you to everyone who helped, and everyone who signed.
Onward, to November and winning this critical Senate seat back from the conservative Republican machine!
Jill Loew recently hosted another fabulous postcard party in Schenectady to help get the word out. I am so grateful to these Wonder Women for the good work they do helping candidates. Boy, those cookies look good, too.
Patriots on Parade
The 4th of July holiday gave me lots of opportunities to show my support for the great state of New York, and talk to a wide variety of people who turned out for some old-fashioned fun. What glorious weather and what nice groups of friends and neighbors!
With the Windham Democrats, the Mountaintop Progressives and our next congressman, Antonio Delgadoat Windham’s 4th of July parade.
Thank you, Saugerties Democratic Committee, for inviting me to walk with you in the Saugerties 4th of July parade!
Another Wonderful Opportunity to Get to Know my Future Constituents.
Thank you, former State Senator Cecilia Tkaczyk and the Duanesburg Democrats for a lovely barbecue meet-and-greet July 8 at the beautiful home of Matt and Rose Ganster. It was wonderful to be joined by Congressman Paul D. Tonkoand Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara as well as Duanesberg Democratic Committee Chairman John Peters and Cara Ackerley, candidate for Schenectady County Clerk, with her adorable three-week-old son Colton. And a huge thank you to Jake, the lemonade entrepreneur, for donating his Sunday sales to my campaign!
Service Employees International Union Endorses Pat Strong for NY Senate
I’m so happy to have received the endorsement of SEIU 32BJ, an organization of 2.1 million members united by the belief in the dignity and worth of workers and the services they provide and dedicated to improving the lives of workers and their families and creating a more just and humane society.
Getting in Wave Formation
Awesome crowd at Niskayuna Town Rec Center for annual Progressive Schenectady picnic. These folks are ready to roll up their sleeves and make the #BlueWave a reality.
